What is due when
01.10.2026
Entry into force
From this day the risk management and reporting obligations of the NISG 2026 apply. The previous NISG 2018 ceases to apply.
31.12.2026
Registration deadline
By this day, affected companies must register in the business service portal. This is the hard deadline your preparation is built around.
afterwards
Proof of compliance
Affected companies must be able to prove that their security measures work. Starting early means having the evidence ready in time.

Who the NISG 2026 covers
Whether the law applies to your company depends on sector and size. Even those not directly affected often receive the requirements via security questionnaires from customers in the supply chain.
50+
From medium size
Covered are companies with 50 or more employees or over 10 million euros in turnover and balance sheet total. Large companies count as essential or important entities depending on the sector.
Suppliers too
NIS2 makes supply chain security mandatory. Large customers therefore increasingly demand security evidence from their suppliers, even below the thresholds.
